Could you, would you, on a train?
This page tells you how to get to our ceremony and reception by public transit. For information on getting to public transit lines from an airport, see our airports page.
To Ceremony:
St. Nicholas Church is only one mile from the Babylon Long Island Railroad (LIRR) station. From your starting point, take the Montauk line (also may be listed as Babylon, Patchogue or Speonk) out to Babylon. The schedule can be found on the LIRR website to plan your arrival, or use the following recommendations.
We recommend taking the 2:13pm train from Penn Station (Manhattan) which arrives in Babylon at 3:24pm. From Jamaica (for JFK or LaGuardia airport arrivals), we recommend taking the 2:41pm train which arrives in Babylon at 3:21pm. If you need a ride from the train station to the ceremony, please contact us and we'll arrange to have someone pick you up and find room in a car to get you to the reception after the ceremony, too.
To Reception Hall:
Captain Bill's Bayview House is only one mile from the Bay Shore LIRR station. Bay Shore is on the same Montauk/Patchogue/Speonk line, one stop past Babylon. You can use the same LIRR website to plan your arrival or use the following recommendation.
We recommend taking the train that arrives at 6:27pm at Bay Shore, leaving Penn Station (Manhattan) at 5:13pm (transfer at Jamaica) or Jamaica (for JFK/LaGuardia airport arrivals) at 5:41pm. If coming from Penn Station, you need to listen to announcements when the train pulls into Jamaica and transfer trains! Don't fall asleep or you'll end up somewhere else.
If you need a ride from the train station to the reception, please contact us and we'll arrange to have someone pick you up and drop you back off at the station afterwards, if needed.
After Reception:
If you need to get back to Manhattan after the reception, contact us and we'll get you
dropped off at Bay Shore station (12:55am train arrives Penn Station
2:28am, transfer at Babylon). It will be a late night, though, so we
recommend staying the night at a local
hotel and traveling the next
morning.
You can find a helpful site with descriptions of local area activities on the Hampton Inn website or
on our own website.
